چکیده
This review introduces the development history of widely used NF model, i.e., Donnan-Steric Pore Model with Dielectric Exclusion (DSPM-DE), from emergence its predecessors to current form. We present details DSPM-DE assumptions and equations that account for each mechanism. inputs outputs, as well key parameters experimental procedures determining these are also explained. Furthermore, is applied investigate performance under various conditions. Specifically, employed provide a mechanistic interpretation well-known selectivity-permeability tradeoff more typically describe behavior non-porous membrane. Based on simulations using DSPM-DE, we discuss strategies enhancing via tuning membrane properties. membranes thin active layer small nanopores strongly hydrophilic charged beneficial achieving high perm-selectivity. Analysis performed separation divalent monovalent cations DSPM-DE. Finally, uncertainties model their impacts prediction. validity fundamental prospects potential improvements modeling enhance utility in predicting performance. Machine learning-based models, once trained large set data, likely powerful than DSPE-DE or any physical future application

Modeling of Nanofiltration for Concentrated Electrolyte Solutions using Linearized Transport Pore Model
In this study, linearized transport pore model (LTPM) is applied for modeling nanofiltration (NF) membrane separation process. This modeling approach is based on the modified extended Nernst-Planck equation enhanced by Debye-Huckel theory to take into account the variations of activity coefficient especially at high salt concentrations. Rejection of single-salt (NaCl) electrolyte is inve...
متن کامل1 Affinity Chromatography History , Perspectives , Limitations and Prospects
Biomolecule separation and purification has until very recently steadfastly remained one of the more empirical aspects of modern biotechnology. Affinity chromatography, one of several types of adsorption chromatography, is particularly suited for the efficient isolation of biomolecules. This technique relies on the adsorbent bed material that has biological affinity for the substance to be isol...
متن کاملEvolutionary neuroscience: Limitations and prospects
Brain evolution is a complex weave of species similarities and differences, bound by diverse rules and principles. This book is a detailed examination of these principles, using data from a wide array of vertebrates but minimizing technical details and terminology. It is written for advanced undergraduates, graduate students, and more senior scientists who already know something about “the brai...
